Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, Product – Embedded Software for John Deere in Grovetown, GA, you will:

  • Develop new applications of technology for product development;
  • Analyze assignments to determine software requirements and engineering specifications that must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope;
  • Design, implement, and test software features for electronic control units used in our agricultural equipment;
  • Suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, and then deliver a plan for a small element of a change management program;
  • Operate in a team environment and provide technical leadership and designing solutions for cross-functional teams;
  • Develop and execute tests and analysis plans for product verification and validation;
  • Act as a subject matter expert in area of expertise to enable them to improve performance.

What Skills You Need

  • 5 years of experience in specify, design, develop, test, and maintain multidisciplinary vehicle systems and subsystems using Systems Engineering principles and Model-Based System Development tools (software architecture, C, C++, or MATLAB)
  • 2 years of experience in develop and verify a Proof of Concept for Vehicle system or subsystems such as Electronic Control Unit (ECU) hardware and software using model-based system (Model-in-the-Loop) simulations
  • 3 years of experience in define, document, and maintain requirements and architecture interfaces using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools. Experience with formal requirements management environments, functional safety, and SysML tools including Cameo, PTC Integrity, or PREEvision
  • 2 years of experience in analyze and tune control system performance in a physical system (e.g., vehicle, implements) based on real-world testing, and resolve customer-reported control system defects using CAN data tools
  • 5 years of experience in produce and evaluate potential system design solutions using engineering decision analysis methods including cost-benefit analysis, decision trees, root cause analysis, etc. involving other functional engineers, supply management, and third-party supplier personnel
  • 5 years of experience in coach and mentor a global team consisting of offshore and U.S.-based engineering teams while collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver viable engineering solutions

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years related experience.
