Your Responsibilities

As a Material Flow Engineer for John Deere Horicon Works located in Horicon, WI, centrally located between Milwaukee and Madison, you will….

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, operations and factory automation teams to design efficient material flow line processes and automated movement systems.
  • Ensure continuous uptime and connectivity of automation equipment, including RFID portals, robots, and servers, while managing data file transfers.
  • Develop and maintain Databricks and Python scripts, Power BI reports, and Ignition tools to support daily material flow operations.
  • Implement technology solutions that reduce indirect labor costs and integrate new technologies into material flow processes.
  • Define business cases and financial justifications related to material flow and automation.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of engineering experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • 3 or more years leading technical or automation projects of significant scope.
  • 1 or more years using data and analytics to generate profitable business use cases.
  • Highly effective communication, presentation, and project management skills

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Proficient in using SAP for data management, including experience in extracting and analyzing large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar programming languages.
  • Experienced with automation technologies, such as autonomous mobile robots, automated storage and retrieval systems, and conveyor systems.
  • A self-motivated learner who actively seeks out new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science
