Engineer Product II - Hydraulic Systems

The Engineer Product II – Hydraulic Systems is responsible for the design, development, analysis, and validation of hydraulic systems and components for agriculture equipment. This role involves working cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure robust and innovative hydraulic solutions that meet performance, cost, and quality targets. 

Main Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic system architectures for core machine functions (e.g., implement lift, steering, braking, auxiliary hydraulics);

• Design closed-loop and open-loop hydraulic circuits tailored for agricultural applications;

• Ensure system compatibility with mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems;

• Select and size hydraulic components (pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, filters) based on performance, durability, and cost;

• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate new technologies and validate components for harsh agricultural environments;

• Perform system-level simulations using tools like AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, or Automation Studio;

• Analyze pressure drops, flow rates, thermal behavior, and dynamic response under field conditions;

• Conduct FMEA and DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes;

• Support prototype builds and conduct bench and field testing of hydraulic systems;

• Develop test plans and procedures to validate system performance, reliability, and compliance with standards;

• Analyze test data and iterate designs based on results and field feedback;

• Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate electro-hydraulic systems (e.g., load-sensing, flow-sharing, proportional control);

• Support development of diagnostic strategies and software calibration for hydraulic functions;

• Ensure designs comply with ISO, SAE, and regional agricultural machinery standards (e.g., ISO 25119 for functional safety);

• Create and maintain detailed documentation including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and engineering change notices.; 

• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, service, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and customer satisfaction;

• Provide technical support during production ramp-up and post-launch troubleshooting;

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and system simplification;

• Stay current with industry trends in hydraulics, precision agriculture, and sustainable technologies (e.g., electrification, smart hydraulics). 

What Skills You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field;

• Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates and provides training;

• Experience in hydraulic system design and development;

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and hydraulic simulation tools;

• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, control systems, and hydraulic circuit design; 

• Experience with testing and validation of hydraulic components and systems.
