The Role

We are seeking a Customer Onboarding Risk Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring robust due diligence and compliance with AML/CTF regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review high-risk and complex customer applications, including PEPs, high-risk jurisdictions, and adverse media cases.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on UK AML and CTF regulations.
  • Analyse customer data, transaction patterns, and source of funds to assess risk.
  • Draft clear and concise Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to resolve AML concerns.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of high-risk accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance AML processes and controls.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory developments and industry best practices.

About You

  • Degree in law, finance, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK AML/CTF legislation (e.g. POCA, JMLSG, MLR 2017, FATF) and EU AML Directives.
  • Experience with screening tools (e.g. World-Check, Dow Jones, LexisNexis) and case management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
  • Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
