Your Responsibilities

As a Corporate Business Manager for John Deere Construction Equipment Company located in Moline, IL, you will...

  • Develop and implement Sales and Marketing strategies, leveraging extensive customer business plans, for incremental dealer sales to high potential large local/regional North American Quarry & Ag customer accounts in the private sector.
  • Implement effective sales and marketing strategies that are North American in scope and delivering 250 or more-unit sales annually, while generating a minimum of $45M in equipment sales revenues
  • Aggressively develop and lead implementation of creative market segment initiatives, leveraging superior knowledge and expertise, to drive greater dealer engagement and success in the marketplace
  • Achieve discount, expense, and sales budget(s)
  • Establish, maintain, and grow effective dealer and customer relationships by understanding their unique needs through development and execution of customer business plans and Industry segment plans
  • Manage effective and proactive aftersales support activities, to ensure long term, profitable customer relationships
  • Serve as a single point of contact that coordinates both internal and external resources, to make it easier for customers to do business with John Deere and Deere dealers

What Skills You Need

  • Skills in Strategic Account Management, as well as sales and marketing experience, with national accounts
  • Knowledge of Construction & Forestry (C&F) products and aftersales services / solutions
  • Knowledge of C&F equipment Dealer’s operational processes and procedures
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Professional level writing proficiency
  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool / system
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and terms used in equipment financing
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management software applications
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75% (some travel will take place outside of traditional work hours) 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience developing and negotiating large, strategic customer agreements
  • Experience dealing with purchasing agents, departments, and managers
  • Dealer commercial relationship management experience (Territory Sales Manager, Territory Customer Support Manager, Channel Manager)
  • Experience structuring finance lease and retail agreements
  • Detailed knowledge of the equipment industry and / or experience with competitor dealership / OEM
  • Retail sales experience
  • MBA in a Business/Management and or Marketing

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business/Management, Marketing or Engineering discipline or equivalent related work experience
