Your Responsibilities

As an Off Shift Maintenance Supervisor for John Deere Tractor Operations located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

  • As the 3rd shift maintenance supervisors you will help guide daily work instructions to a team of skilled trades of 20 employees. 
  • You will be responsible for achieving dept unit’s goals and objectives around safety, response time (delivery) and quality performance. 
  • You are the first-line liaison between operational issues and response.

What Skills You Need

  • Preferred 3 plus years’ experience in Supervision
  • Demonstrated team building and strong Communication skills: person-to-person verbal communication, written communication, team meetings w/presentation skills.
  • Tenacity to overcome obstacles to drive tasks to completion. A get it done attitude
  • Coordination of facilities and running repair needs, including inspections, preventative maintenance, and assignment of work.
  • General Deere/UAW contract knowledge
  • Willingness to work shutdowns, weekends, and overtime as needed to support operations 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated leadership within a maintenance organization.
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflict between support groups across multiple shifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work loads and directions to support Operations and/or facility needs.
  • Knowledge in mechanical, hydraulic, and electric concepts.ie… technical and mechanical skills
  • Willingness to make tough decisions in the face of adversity and objection.
  •  Demonstrated experience directing and working with outside contractors
  • SAP knowledge a plus.

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Degree in a 4-year accredited University in Engineering, Technology, Business Management, or equivalent experience
