Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Manufacturing Paint Engineer for John Deere Seeding-Valley City located in Valley City, ND, you will contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and systems to deliver the final product within specified cost and quality parameters. In addition, you will:

  • Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and specify the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of experience working with Powder Paint process, equipment, and implementing new technologies for paint process, also new methods, tools and systems.
  • Experience in Powder Paint process to provide technical guidance when required on identifying and diagnosing operational problems, then developing engineering solutions to resolve those issues on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Experience implementing / leading strategic projects as: capacity, new processes improvement, technologies, engineering solutions, and systems.
  • Experience on feasibility studies, defining costs, budgeting, timeline, and preparing AFE.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills, and ability to lead / facilitate paint projects meetings.
  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional teamwork and collaboration in a factory role.
  • Ability to negotiate without supervision and provide technical guidance, when required, on how to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties.
  • Effective communication to provide technical guidance when required on reviewing and creating relevant, lucid, and effective reports to all stakeholders.
  • Experience on using JD manufacturing and Paint information systems (SAP, JDAAT, MPP, LBS).

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 5 or more years of experience working with LBS system that manage the Paint process.
  • Experience leading Powder Paint process optimization to improve: Safety, Quality, Capacity, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing culture, 5s, and manufacturing excellence projects.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with CREO.
  • Experience to create / develop OMS, SOE, Labor standard in the MPP.
  • Experience working in one or more cross-functional roles including manufacturing engineering, operations, Quality, Design engineering, and project management.
  • Experience delivering Powder Process innovations and new technologies.
  • Experience using, developing, or maintaining visualization and communication systems and production tools: (SharePoint, Power BI, Ignition).

Education

Ideally you will have a degree in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
